A FLEXIBLE SOLUTION FOR EVERYONE
At Makhulu, we can laser cut both ferrous & non-ferrous material in various grades, finishes, and thicknesses including mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum. Our large stock of best-quality sheet & plate metal allows us to provide quick turnarounds at competitive prices. If you have a drawing, even better, but if not we have skilled draftsman who can assist you with putting your idea to paper for us to make a reality. Feel free to ask our team for advice if you are unsure which material to use.
Our laser cutting capabilities for sheet metal include:
Mild Steel
One of the more common materials we laser cut. Mild steel is a ferrous metal made from iron and carbon. The material is low-cost and has properties that are appropriate for a wide range of applications in engineering. Due to its high iron content, low carbon mild steel has good magnetic properties, making it a ferromagnetic steel.
Stainless Steel
0.5mm - 8mm
Corrosion and rust are not a problem with stainless steel because it is an alloy of iron with 11% chromium. This and the result of the additional work required to fabricate, stainless steel is a more expensive metal, but the advantages include an aesthetic metal that resists corrosion and requires little maintenance.
Aluminium
0.5mm - 4mm
Aluminum is approximately one third the density of steel, compared to other common metals. When exposed to oxygen, it forms a protective layer of oxide on its surface. Aluminum can cost from 20-30% or even 60% more than stainless steel, depending on what it is used for.
